Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor

Ms. Rabia Ikram, M.Sc., RP

I am a proud immigrant whose life has been beautifully shaped by the richness of three different cultures. Speaking three languages has not only allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds but has also deepened my understanding of how culture, identity, and belonging influence our emotional experiences.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Psychology and am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing some of life’s most profound challenges. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the healing power of connection.
People often ask what drew me to Psychology and becoming a Psychotherapist — especially when I once dreamed of becoming a shoe designer. The answer is simple: I’ve always been deeply moved by people’s stories. Each person I meet carries a unique journey of pain, courage, and transformation. Bearing witness to that journey is both an honour and a source of inspiration for me. I believe that our shared human need to belong and connect, even when we feel uncertain or afraid, is a reflection of our deepest strength. In therapy, I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your story, rediscover your voice, and move toward healing with grace and self-compassion.

“Life doesn’t make any sense without interdependence. We need each other, and the sooner we learn that, the better for us all.” ~ Erik Erikson

I truly believe that as human beings, we are wired for connection — it’s through safe, nurturing relationships that we grow, heal, and thrive. While independence has its place, genuine well-being is rooted in the sense of belonging we find with others. What moves me most is the compassion and unconditional love people hold for their children, families, and communities. As a mother, I am deeply inspired by my child’s resilience; it fills my heart with warmth and pride. Parenthood has taught me to stay present, persevere through challenges, and find gratitude even in the hardest moments. This work reminds me daily why I do what I do — to help nurture others and create a world that feels a little kinder, a little more connected, and a little less divided.

As Carl Rogers said, “In my early professional years, I asked: ‘How can I treat, cure, or change this person?’ Now, I would reframe that question as: ‘How can I provide a relationship that this person may use for their personal growth?’”

In my practice, I strive to embody that spirit. I show up as my authentic self — warm, curious, and often with a gentle sense of humor. I see therapy as a collaborative journey built on trust and compassion. It is an honor to be welcomed into your inner world, and I approach that responsibility with deep respect and care. My hope is to create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and understood — a place where healing and self-discovery can unfold naturally. You don’t have to walk this path alone; I’m here to support you every step of the way.
